Our Approach
The firm’s appellate practice focuses on civil appeals and related legal issues in both state and federal courts. Osborne, Helman, Scott, Knisely & Stanton, LLP handles appeals of cases our attorneys try as well as cases tried by other lawyers.
Our attorneys are particularly well situated to handle appeals involving trust, estate and fiduciary disputes. They have also been involved in appeals through drafting amicus curiae briefs in various matters, as well as in representing principal parties in cases across the civil litigation spectrum.
The firm has several attorneys who have clerked in the federal court system or with Texas state courts. Their practice experience involves handling matters in the Texas intermediate courts of appeal, the Texas Supreme Court, the United States Courts of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Based on our attorneys’ experience, we can also provide valuable assistance during trial by preparing motions, briefs and jury questions that will focus the legal arguments in anticipation of appeal and provide the best opportunities for post-verdict success.
